About Us

Ashley Morris, Phd, LCSW

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a trauma researcher, and a fitness enthusiast, Dr. Morris has placed herself in a position to support whole beings! She provides direct counseling services to adolescents, adults, couples, and the aging population. Though Dr. Morris assesses and diagnoses various mental, emotional, and behavioral conditions, she feels her true specialty is human connection. Dr. Morris creates an environment where clients feel comfortable showing up as their true, authentic selves and exploring their experiences and barriers to self-actualization. As a professor and qualified supervisor, she stresses to her students and interns the importance of creating a safe space for clients, and she prioritizes this aspect of the therapeutic process with her clients.

Dr. Morris’s approach merges systems theory with solution-focused theory. She is trained in eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). As a professor of cultural competence in social work practice and trauma researcher, she remains current on research and interventions for marginalized populations and prioritizes culturally competent care.

Dr. Morris enjoys traveling, visiting theme parks, and exploring Florida’s springs with her husband and three children in her spare time. She also enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and mentoring future social workers.

Shea Hanna

Shea is a soon to be graduate from the University of Central Florida, with a thirst for knowledge and skills targeted towards helping others. Along with her soon to be BA in Political Science, Pre-Law, she will be graduating with a certificate in Social Work and the Law in the hopes to expand the connection between the legal profession and the social work field. With these goals, Shea is applying for graduate school to pursue Social Work with the later purpose of becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Coming from a background in communities of South Florida, she places a lot of importance on diversity and embracing individuality, uniqueness, and shared connections.

Shea is interested in one day working with both individuals and communities to help reform welfare systems and bring resources that are oftentimes acknowledged but not addressed properly enough to make the intended impact. Additionally, she loves making connections with others and meeting people where they are most comfortable, with a focus on older adolescents and young adults. She believes this age group can sometimes be overlooked and stuck between a shadowed middle stage of childhood and later adulthood.

In her free time, Shea likes to read, explore Central Florida, and spend time with friends and family. An interesting fact to know is that Shea does not have a specific favorite color, with the answer often changing based on the season and her surrounding environment.
